Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy describes how Alberta Test collects, uses and protects your information.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your data is F. Azaza, publisher of the Alberta Test app. For any question about your personal information, write to contact@azaza.fr.
2. Information we collect
Alberta Test uses Firebase anonymous authentication: you never create an account with a name or an email, and we do not collect data that identifies you directly. The following data is stored:
- Learning progress (answers, mastery by chapter and by road sign, mock test history)
- Preferences (language of the questions, language of the interface, test date if you enter one, reminders, settings)
- An anonymous identifier generated by Firebase Authentication
- Technical data (app version, platform, crash reports through Crashlytics)
- Content reports (questions you flag as wrong)
The app does not use the microphone, the camera, your contacts or your location.
3. How we use it
- Sync your progress between your devices
- Bring back the questions you get wrong and show your progress by chapter
- Correct the content mistakes you report
- Diagnose technical problems through Firebase Crashlytics
4. Legal basis
We process your information with your consent, which you give by installing and using the app, in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). As F. Azaza is based in France, the processing also follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): your consent for optional processing, our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and correct, and the performance of the service for your premium subscription.
You can withdraw your consent at any time.
5. Third-party services
The app relies on the following providers, acting as processors:
- Firebase Authentication (Google), anonymous sign-in
- Cloud Firestore (Google), storage of progress and content reports
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google), crash reports
- Google Analytics for Firebase (Google), anonymous, aggregated usage statistics
- Firebase App Check (Google), checks that requests come from the genuine app
- RevenueCat, management and validation of premium subscriptions
- Cloudflare R2, delivery of the optional voice files and content updates you choose to download (your IP address is seen to serve the file; nothing is linked to you)
Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. These services have their own privacy policies, including those of Google, Apple and RevenueCat.
No ads are shown. No advertising network is integrated.
6. Where your data is stored
Google (Firebase) and RevenueCat store and process some data on servers located in the United States. These transfers are covered by contractual safeguards, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and your information may be accessible to authorities under the laws of the country where it is stored.
7. Retention and deletion
Your progress is stored on your device and synced, encrypted in transit, with Cloud Firestore. Your data is kept as long as you use the app. You can ask for its deletion at any time by writing to contact@azaza.fr with the name of the app. We delete your data within 30 days and confirm it by email. Uninstalling the app does not delete the data kept online.
8. Security
Communications with our servers are encrypted with TLS. No method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.
9. Children
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access and correct your information, to withdraw your consent, and to ask for its deletion or portability. To exercise these rights, write to contact@azaza.fr.
If you believe your information is not handled properly, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, or the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
11. Notifications
If you allow them, the app shows study reminders that are scheduled on your device. No notification server is used and you can turn them off at any time in the settings.
12. Changes
Changes will be published on this page with an updated date.
