Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy describes what data PrepaÖsterreich collects, what it is used for and what rights you have.
1. Data controller
PrepaÖsterreich is published by F. Azaza, France. F. Azaza is the data controller for the processing described here and can be reached at contact@azaza.fr. No account, name or postal address is required to use the app. 2. Information collected
The app uses Firebase anonymous authentication. No directly identifying data is collected. The following is stored: your learning progress (results, mastery by topic, mock-exam history), your settings (chosen module, exam date, language), an anonymous Firebase-generated identifier, technical data (app version, platform, crash reports) and content you report as incorrect. 3. Lawful basis
We process your data on these bases: the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) to provide the app, save your progress and manage your subscription; our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in securing the app, fixing crashes and measuring its use in aggregate; your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), asked in the app, for optional features such as the assisted correction. You can withdraw your consent at any time by no longer using the feature or by writing to contact@azaza.fr. 4. Use of data
Data is used to sync your progress across devices, compute adaptive revision, fix reported content errors and diagnose technical issues. 5. Processors
The app uses Google Firebase services: Firebase Authentication (anonymous sign-in), Cloud Firestore (progress and reports), Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) and Google Analytics for Firebase (anonymous usage analytics). Subscription payments are handled by RevenueCat, the App Store and Google Play. These providers act as our processors. No advertising is shown. 6. Assisted correction (optional)
The app can review the texts you write in the writing-practice section. This feature is optional and only runs after you explicitly agree to it. When you ask for a review, the text you have just written is sent to Google (Gemini) for analysis; under that service's terms, Google may use it to improve its services, including through human review. We therefore recommend not including sensitive personal information. No text is ever sent without your request. 7. International transfers
Google (Firebase) and RevenueCat also process data on servers in the United States. Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, in particular the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and entered into with those providers. 8. Storage and retention
Your progress is stored locally on the device and synced encrypted with Cloud Firestore. Your data is kept as long as you use the app. You can ask for its deletion at any time by writing to contact@azaza.fr with the name of the app. We delete your data within 30 days and confirm it by email. Uninstalling the app does not delete the data kept online. 9. Security
Communication with our servers is encrypted using TLS. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. 10. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. 11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability: contact@azaza.fr. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, with the French CNIL (cnil.fr), as the controller is established in France, or under Art. 77 GDPR with the authority of your habitual residence, which in Austria is the Datenschutzbehörde (DSB). 12. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page; the date above shows when it was last changed.
